How is acne treated?
Acne is treated with blue light, which kills acne bacteria and improves the overall inflammation.
Acne is caused by a number of different factors like stress, hormonal imbalance or food allergies, which cause inflammation of the gut.
We're able to improve the condition of mild to moderate acne quite significantly with regular treatments but unless the underlying cause is addressed permanent results are unlikely to be achieved.
If you need a spot or boil to disappear fast for a special occasion this is the best way to do it.
What can I expect during the treatment?
Intense pulsed llght is used for the treatment. The skin is not punctured or ablated at all. The sensation is a little stingy because the light turns to heat as it enters the skin but it's perfectly tolerable.
Immediately afterwards it will smart a little for a short while and may be slightly reddened or flushed but this returns to normal within hours or even minutes in some cases.
Is there any down time?
There is no downtime with this treatment apart from a little flushing or redness immediately afterwards.
How long will it take to see the results?
It takes approximately two to three weeks to see the full effect of one treatment.
How many treatments are needed?
Depending upon the severity of the case effective results and lasting improvement may be achieved with multiple treatments spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart. A treatment regime will be recommended after a skin assessment during a free consultation.
