What is rejuvenation treatment?

This treatment is a wonderful boost before a special event or as an annual maintenance regime. It significantly refines skin tone and texture and boosts collagen production. Pigmentation, veins and general redness are dramatically improved.  It's especially good for hands, face and chest areas.

What can I expect during the treatment?

The skin is not punctured or ablated in any way during the treatment. A combination of intense pulsed llght and laser is used for this treatment. The sensation is a little stingy because the light turns to heat as it enters the skin but it's perfectly tolerable.

The objective is to stimulate the skin's defence mechanism to build collagen. No numbing cream should be used or only superficial results will be achieved.

Immediately afterwards it will smart a little for a short while and may be slightly reddened or flushed but this returns to normal within hours or even minutes in some cases.

Is there any down time?

The downtime of the treatment depends on how much work is needed but even in severe cases mostly everyone resumes their normal routine by the following day at the latest.

Some people may have a little puffiness under the eye area.

For a period of a week after the treatment, superficial dead skin cells may accumulate causing a dry appearance.  They will slough off revealing a smoother texture.

Any pigmentation previously present will darken and become a surface microcrust, which also comes off after approximately 10 days, revealing a more even tone.

There is no 'downtime' or darkening of existing redness or vascular lesions unless they are extremely large in which case they may darken as the blood coagulates from the heat. The body removes the darkened vascular residue over a two week period revealing great results.

How long will it take to see the results?

It takes approximately two weeks to see a more even tone and texture, resulting in a healthy glow.

Any redness, veins or pigmentation will also be dramatically improved  after two weeks.

Collagen production reaches it's optimum level after 6 weeks creating a slight plumping effect.

How many treatments are needed?

One treatment is beneficial but two or three treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart will give best results in certain cases.  A treatment regime will be recommended after a skin assessment during a free consultation.
